Klaris 700

Welcome! What is this place, you wonder? First of all it is not a static entity, so Im not sure I can say that it is one thing, exclusively. It is more an attempt to structure and combine the three academic and creative fields that I personally find most fascinating and intriguing as lenses for looking at the world; sociology, photography, and documentary films.

My name is Klaris and my mission with this project is to be as open and vulnerable as possible when I use the most interesting thinkers and creators that I stumble into to renew their references to fit the world as I see it. One month it can be through photography, another through a short documentary, and yet another time through articles.

Through the projects and references on this platform, you will get to know me and my story by the help of the creative and academic tools provided by masters like Pierre Bourdieu, Chris Marker, Frederik Wiseman, and Robert Hanson. My ambition is to shed light on both the stories we tell ourselves, the hidden motivation behind those stories, and the beauty and cynicism surrounding them both. Feel free to discuss and comment me anywhere you like on this page. This place is meant for us to tell stories and to let users dive a bit deeper into the critique and creation of society, aka reality, aka the earthly physical shell of the deeper spiritual existence.

This is also a space to dive deeper into the souls and hearts of prominent thinkers and creators that both show us the shell and the physicality of our existence but also those who concentrate their efforts on the intangible force that insists upon all of this driving forward. My own personal entry into the field of sociography is one forged by many years spent in education and practice both in the media industry, but also as a teacher focused on the effects of relations and cultural context as platform for understanding why we learn and why we aspire to grow. Making this site somewhat different because of the cofluental interest in both the physical and the meatphysical aspects of the field of sociology at once.
